Due to severe weather conditions the National Motorcycle Show, due to take place at Manchester Central this weekend (9 - 10 January) has been cancelled.
The official end of the summer is no longer an excuse for bikers to pack their bikes away for the winter, according to the Motor Cycle Industry Association.
Concerns have been expressed that there are too few test centres and that some test candidates are now required to travel long distances.
